Boy’s Division I 10 teams Returning Champion L D Bell will be defending this division against runner-up South Garland among strong contenders. Lubbock Estacado ranked #2 in class 3A and lost in the Texas state tournament finals last season by 2 points and returning All-state player Kevin Wagner. Moving up to this division will be last year’s Division II champion Burkburnett ranked #12 in class 3A with 2 All-District returning starters. Mansfield Timberview, #11 in class 4A and Regional Champion last season. Sunrise Christian Academy from Bel Aire, Kansas will be competing in this division. Girl’s Division II (3A) 10 teams Hirschi #18 in Class 3A. Carrollton Prince of Peace ranked #8 in TAPPS small school. 3A TAPPS state finalist, Lake Country Christian ranked #11 in TAPPS large school with All State sophomores, Lindsey Dillette and Bethany Carlisle. Girl’s Division II (2A) 10 teams Last year’s State Finalist in Class 2A Bowie will compete along with last year’s Fantasy Champion & Regional Quarterfinalist Aubrey and Fantasy runner-up Olney. There are 4 Fantasy all-tournament selections returning. Boy’s Division II 10 teams Fantasy runner-up Hirschi will be returning with 2 Fantasy all-tournament selections and 6’6” Chris Ross ranked in the top 100 college recruits in Texas. Six 4A schools including Rider and Wichita Falls will be competing. Girl’s Division III 16 teams 9 of the 16 teams went to the playoffs last season in Class 1A including #2 state-ranked (D1) Muenster with 4 returning starters. Last year’s Fantasy champion Wellington will return with 3 all-tournament selections. McLean, #5 in Division 2; Petersburg, #19 Division 2. Sherman’s Texoma Christian was the TAPPS 2A State Champion last season. Notre Dame #17 TAPPS small school. Boy’s Division III 16 teams 7 of the 16 teams made the 2009 playoffs including two teams who played each other in the Division 2 State Semi-Finals: #3 ranked Leggett with 7 returning letterman including All-State Joe Johnson & #4 ranked Nazareth. Nazareth won last year’s game and this year’s Fantasy final could see these two teams meet again. Last year’s & 4 time Fantasy tournament champion Calvary Christian returns with 2 all-tournament selections including last season’s All-State TAPPS 3A freshman Jason Landers. Texoma Christian last year’s TAPPS 2A state runner-up. #10 Henrietta Midway returns 4 starters from an Area Finalist 27-6 season. |
